Version: (using KDE 4.1.1) Compiler: gcc-4.3.1 CFLAGS="-O2 -march=prescott -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages The notification icons in the plasma system tray are messed up. Now, there are several other bug reports where users have complained of the fact that they have similar issues - yet I am filing a separate bug report simply because they can see the notification icons. In my case, all I see is several KDE Plasma icons overlapping each other in my system tray. Thus, there is no way to figure out to which application the icon belongs to - I have to point the mouse over the system tray to figure out which icon is located where. I have asked this question at the gentoo forums as well, and it seems no one else has similar issues - so it could be the case that my USE flags are not correct or something similar. For further information, I am using the kde-testing overlay to build 4.1.1 packages. My USE variables are as follows: USE="X a52 aac acpi alsa -arts avahi bash-completion -bindist bluetooth \ branding bzip2 cairo cdparanoia cdr crypt css ctype cups curl curlwrappers \ cxx dbus dga directfb djvu dri dvd dvdr dts exif fam fbcon ffmpeg flac fontconfig gd gif gimp -gnome gnutls gphoto2 gpm -gtk hal hddtemp htmlhandbook ieee1394 imagemagick ipv6 java \ java5 java6 javascript joystick jpeg jpeg2k kde libnotify mad mmx mono motif mp3 mpeg mplayer \ ncurses nls nptl nptlonly ogg opengl oss pcmcia png posix ppds qt4 qt3support quicktime \ readline real samba scanner smp sndfile spell sse sse2 sse3 startup-notification svg \ svga syslog theora threads tiff truetype type1 unicode usb v4l2 vcd \ vim-syntax vorbis wavpack win32codecs wmf xcomposite xine xinerama xml xpm xscreensaver \ xulrunner xv xvid zeroconf zlib" LOCAL USE VARIABLES ### Section 1: Multimedia media-video/mplayer encode srt ssse3 net-www/mplayerplug-in divx gmedia realmedia wmp firefox media-sound/oss flash media-sound/banshee daap ### Section 2: Applications and Office Software app-office/openoffice gstreamer app-text/evince dvi t1lib gnome-extra/nautilus-sendto pidgin thunderbird app-text/poppler cjk >=dev-java/sun-jdk-1.6.0.06 nsplugin doc app-admin/conky wifi app-text/acroread nsplugin ### Section 3: Internet Applications net-im/pidgin prediction spell mail-client/mozilla-thunderbird ldap -crypt ### Section 4: Graphics x11-libs/cairo glitz svg x11-wm/compiz-fusion unsupported media-gfx/gimp aalib ### Section 5: System sys-apps/hal dell laptop sys-kernel/tuxonice-sources symlink app-portage/layman git subversion net-dns/avahi mdnsresponder-compat ### Section 6: Libraries (qt) x11-libs/qt:3 immqt-bc x11-libs/qt:4 accessibility dbus gif jpeg png qt3support ssl zlib ### Section 7: KDE kde-base/kwin captury app-misc/strigi exiv2 kde-base/okular chm pdf kde-base/gwenview kipi It would be helpful if someone could point out what is going wrong here.
