I'm not sure what you are asking for exactly here. Is it:

a) make it possible to change the order of entries on the Favorites page using drag and drop

or

b) make it so that you can't drag and drag items from the Favorites page

either way, this is a wishlist item.

This functionality currently exists on KDE3 and I constantly am changing the order of the favorites listed as I add and remove programs to the task bar and those available via the task bar when clicking the icon and choosing favorites. having to delete all items in favorites and then choosing them in the order you want is a big waste of time and effort. This missing feature makes using KDE 4.X a big problem.

I just committed some code to fix this bug, now in KDE 4.2 there will be favorites reordering. It has both drag-and-drop reordering and a context menu that allows the user to sort alphabetically.

Jesse: I've just upgraded your bugzilla account so you can close and otherwise manage bugs. Also, note that when you do a commit, you can put the following on a line by itself in the commit message it will automatically close the bug, attributed to you and with a link to the commit:

BUG:171560

pretty neat, huh?

anyways, thanks for the fix and tracking this bug down.
