It's impossible to precisely set position and size of widgets on desktop. When I drag the "resize" button on folder view widget, plasma shows it's scaled content, and it's really slow on my low-end video card. Resizing applet without showing content should be implemented.
Old-scool resizing method (by dragging one corner while opposite corner is held in constant position) also may be useful
