Version: (using KDE 4.1.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I was downloading a file with kget. When the file was almost downloaded the program crashed with signal 6 . I got a crash report here: Application: Kget (kget), signal SIGABRT (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0xb5ef46c0 (LWP 16155)] [New Thread 0xb4061b90 (LWP 16195)] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [KCrash handler] #6 0xb7f65430 in __kernel_vsyscall () #7 0xb681b860 in raise () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 #8 0xb681d228 in abort () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 #9 0xb751d725 in qt_message_output () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #10 0xb751d802 in qFatal () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #11 0xb751d8a5 in qt_assert () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #12 0xb7a13238 in ?? The posted backtrace is unusable; please see http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
Looks like a duplicate of bug 171638 (Crash in KDirLister). Note that that one has been closed and is supposed to be fixed in 4.1.2, but the reporter says he can still reproduce it in 4.1.2. A bug with similar backtrace that is reproducible for me in Dolphin 4.1.2 is bug 168478.
Bug 168478 which looks like a duplicate is fixed in KDE 4.1.3. Could you try if it still crashes? To upgrade to this version in Kubuntu, see http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.1.3.
Indeed... so closing this... Lukas *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 168478 ***
