Hi,

if you activate the desktop effects with the default options you've got 2 application switcher activated. It looks a little bit strange with both app switcher.

Cannot reproduce, would be a distribution thing.
Comment 3 Nicolas L. 2008-11-04 01:22:30 UTC
we do not modify this things, why is by default stored infos about the active effects ?
Comment 4 lucas 2008-11-04 05:03:50 UTC
Whether an effect is enabled by default or not is stored in its .desktop file. Which effects are enabled by the checkboxes on the general desktop effect settings tab is stored in code [ kdebase/workspace/kwin/kcmkwin/kwincompositing/main.cpp -> loadGeneralTab() ]:

Management effects = present windows, desktop grid and dialog parent
Shadow = shadow effect
Animations = scale effect
Comment 5 Nicolas L. 2008-11-04 07:48:57 UTC
so this can't be an issue on our side, as we do not touch this at all.
Comment 6 lucas 2008-11-04 09:12:34 UTC
And I can't reproduce it on trunk so it seems we are missing some vital information.

Michael, can you please give us a step-by-step on how to reproduce this bug if it is not too much trouble. If might be easier if exit KDE, login from a virtual terminal and rename your ~/.kde and ~/.kde4 to something else before logging in. After the test is complete you can logout and rename the two directories back to what they were originally if you want to keep your old settings.
Comment 7 Michael Braun 2008-11-04 20:49:45 UTC
I created a new user and with this user the problem isn't reproducable. So it looks like a problem with my existing user account. So I think this BUG can be closed.
