Description Edwin Boersma 2008-09-18 08:37:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

After updating KDE last Monday (15.09) from KDE:Factory Desktop, my desktop and panels have disappeared. After login, I get a chessboard like background with an empty Desktop directory widget. No context menu on right mouse click.
My applications start and I can switch from desktop, but it is not workable.

I removed ~/.kde4 from the disk, but that gives the same result.

Also tried updating again yesterday, but the result is the same. I'm now back to using KDE 3.5 :-(

Probably there were someting wrong on that packages. Could you try the new 4.1.3?

looks like a packaging error, so closing. if the reporter or anyone else has further input, feel free to reopen! =)
