Version:           1.10.1 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-19-generic

I could not find out the reason for the crash. There even did not appear kcrash, kontact just disappeared.

Afterwards the account information and some kmail related settings (fonts, etc.) were lost.

Can you please let specify what were you doing when crash occurred? Any steps to reproduce the crash?

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
