Description Stefano Roberto Soleti 2008-09-17 13:52:57 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I can use multimedia keys through xmodmap, but i have to start the program manually (or adding it in system settings > autostart). KDE should configure xmodmap and add this command automatically.

I can confirm this.

More to the point, where is Kubuntu expecting the local xmodmap
file, and what name does it expect.

This option is still not implemented. It would be a nice feature. TIll now I'm using xmodmap in Autostart, but it takes several seconds till the blinking xmodmap exacution disappears on startup.

There should be an option to load a specific xmodmap chosen in Systemsettings -> System -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Keyboard.
So you could just load ~/.Xmodmap or ~/.keyboard or /etc/xmodmap or what you want :)

Multimedia keys are now handled automatically and no longer require xmodmap. If you want it to autostart, it's up to you to set that up manually.
