What about File -> Print? Ah, and you can add a "Print" button on your toolbar (Settings -> Configure Toolbars).
yes I know this options but I think a lot of people would like this icon by default.
No, sorry. The toolbar is customizable already as everybody wants, and there's no need to clutter the toolbar more by default.
I understand your opinion but I'm not sure it's consistent to other apps like kmail or Adobe Reader. In Adobe Reader, the printer icon is at first! I think the user use the printer icon much more than e.g. the text grab tool.
> other apps like kmail You don't use kmail for reading documents. > or Adobe Reader. In Adobe Reader, the printer icon is at first! Pity that Acrobat Reader has LOTS more of buttons in its toolbars, so of course adding also "Print" is not a big deal for them. > I think the user use the printer icon much more than e.g. the text grab > tool. I don't think so. Anyway, this will stay open, let's see.
I personally don't think we should add a print button. What do the usability experts say?
While I don't care about Print button being shown by default, I can't configure toolbars to include the button where I want. On Configure toolbars dialog, I can customize 2 toolbars: okular_shell (empty by default) and okular_part. Print button is only avaiable on okular_shell. I can't put okular_shell icons on the right of okular_part, forcing me to have a print button as the first icon.
We won't add the printer icon to the toolbar. About the printer icon being forced to be the first one, that's a kdelibs issue, if you feel like it should be fixed, please report a new bug against kdelibs
