Version: 2.1 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Gentoo) Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 When I start konsole, it only shows one window without any tabs. After I do some work (sometimes sooner, sometimes it seems to take a little longer), all of a sudden konsole shows this (still only) window with a tab handle. I seem to be able to reproduce it quite well by starting the BOINC client in the konsole window. You can find a video showing this behavior at http://oliver-putz.de/bugreports/konsoleTabbingBug.ogv
Hello, This is a bug in Qt which was fixed in Qt 4.4.1, the patch to Qt is available here: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/qt-copy/patches/0225-invalidate-tabbar-geometry-on-refresh.patch?revision=799264&view=markup
Hello, I should also say that this issue appears to affect mostly Gentoo users - I presume that Debian, Fedora et. al already incorporate the patches from KDE at the time of the KDE release.
Thanks for the pointer! So you say it *was* fixed by qt-4.4.1? I ask because I should have 4.4.1 running :) But ok, then I just consider this one fixed and just hope that it will disappear with time :) [Btw: I indeed am a gentoo user, and yes, gentoo indeed does not patch programs very heavily]
Ok, forget my question. I just saw that the corresponding patch is *not* yet incorporated into the qt-4.4.1 codebase.
