Related to 97925 (reopen this one, please) and 170830.

When kmail starts up correctly?, the option to keep my IMAP password is not honored (the pop3 password is kept). It will try to start kwallet. Then it waits. Afterwards, if kmail has not aborted, I get kmail's password dialog. This works normally (except store password does not have any effect).

On KDE shutdown, I briefly see that kwallet dialog which had been hidden behind plasma.

I configured kmail to store password in kwallet. When I start kmail, kwalletd automatically starts(no gui indication) and I configured kwallet to allow access everytime to kmail. But I don't see any bugs. Can you please give more details how have you configured kwallet and kmail and are you still able to reproduce the bug?

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
