Description David Todd 2008-09-11 19:34:33 UTC
Version: 1.10.1 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Mandriva Linux release 2009.0 (Cooker) for i586)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-desktop586-0.rc6.1mnb

When you are using certain 'right click' menus in KMail the menu window is too narrow for the text.

Not all menus are affected but some that are include check spelling and 'move to' menu.

To check this, open a blank email, enter some text with one or more words misspelled, then right click on the misspelled word.

I don't know what you mean. Can you provide a screenshot? I haven't seen anything strange in the spellcheck context menu. Did you try with another style than Oxygen?
Comment 2 David Todd 2008-09-12 11:12:43 UTC
After further investigation I have found this is not restricted to KMail. It also affects other KDE applications (such as Konqueror), it is just it is more apparent in KMail.

Screen-shot showing cut-off menus

this is a screen-shot which shows the spellcheck menu in KMail. Other menus respond in a similar manner, both in KMail and other KDE applications.

David, what widget style are you using?
Comment 6 David Todd 2008-09-21 16:38:07 UTC
I was using LaOra-Qt, if I change to another style the problem goes!
Comment 7 George Goldberg 2008-09-21 16:48:38 UTC
I *think* that this is a Mandriva only issue then, and should be reported to them. I'm just waiting for a Mandriva developer to confirm that is correct before I close this report.
Comment 8 George Goldberg 2008-09-21 17:58:13 UTC
Confirmed that this is a Mandriva specific issue. It should be reported to their bugzilla at http://qa.mandriva.com .
