Description Sergei Andreev 2008-09-03 21:07:46 UTC
Version: 1.10.1 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-21-generic

After upgrade to kde 4.1.1 I relogined and start to reexplore my system.
I've checked emails then just switched to browser. After few minutes kontact crashed.

Приложение: Kontact (kontact), сигнал SIGSEGV

Could you install the kdepim debug packages please? Read http://techbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports for more info.
Comment 2 Sergei Andreev 2008-09-10 19:55:59 UTC
I am already having kdepim-dbg-kde4 installed.
Comment 3 Sergei Andreev 2008-09-11 09:46:30 UTC
Some googling for libkmailprivate.so.4 gave me this problem:

http://groups.google.com/group/linux.debian.bugs.dist/browse_thread/thread/7e06ead5372dda88

So ?? in string #6 0xb18da186 in ?? () from /usr/lib/kde4/lib/libkmailprivate.so.4 is a some kind of a package bug
Comment 4 Thomas McGuire 2008-09-11 11:19:33 UTC
No, the ?? just says that there are no debug infos for KMail available. Probably there is a separate debug package for kmail.
Comment 5 Sergei Andreev 2008-09-11 11:33:30 UTC
>Probably there is a separate debug package for kmail.

None, exept kdepim-dbg-kde3

The thing is that libkdepim 4.1.1 contains one more function
than 4.1.0 and libkmailprivate uses that, but the kmail package
does not depend on libkdepim >= 4.1.1, just on 4.1.0. This causes
this undefined symbol error.

The commit that added the function is:
http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=841028"

Am I totally wrong with this suggestion?

Have you experienced this bug again using a recent KDE (4.1.3 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2svn) ? Thanks :)
Comment 7 Sergei Andreev 2008-12-31 15:18:32 UTC
Using KDE 4.1.3 and I can not remember similar crashes - sudden crash without visible reason.
