Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package I am a real keyboard fan so I really need shortcuts to run away from mouse. I am running kdemod 4.1 on Arch Linux. When I set shortcuts such as F4 for Home or Ctrl + Space for changing the keyboard layout, they simply don't work and even cause the predefined shortcuts such as Alt + F1 for application launcher to become useless. I really didn't have a clue what kind of log would be useful to solve this problem but I'll gladly do that if someone instructs me what to do.

I have the same problem on KDE 4.2.0 (Gentoo portage version from ~amd64 branch) Shortcuts aren't working and if I try to open System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard Shortcuts, I receive the following error message: Failed to contact the KDE global shortcuts daemon Message: No such object path '/KdedGlobalAccel' Error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownObject

This issue is probably no longer relevant (I can't reproduce) and does not apply to any currently supported KDE application, as it did not have any communication in more than 13 years.
