Description Unknown 2008-08-20 04:43:51 UTC
Version: 1.6.6 (using KDE 3.5.9)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

There is a small terminal icon at the bottom of every konsole window (every tab gets a new icon like this). The strange thing is that this icon disappears temporarily if I'm at the beginning of a line and press "Backspace".

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not and it's certainly not a big deal, but it's kind of strange.

Oh I see, is this like a substitute for the system beep?
Comment 2 A. Spehr 2008-08-21 09:30:14 UTC
In 3.5.9, I see the screen icon turn into a bell.
In 4.1.62, nothing happens.

I don't see a bell. Maybe I'm missing the icon?

Looks like this is the case. This might be a Kubuntu specific issue. Either way, they are moving to KDE 4 now and they won't be doing further updates to KDE 3.

Thank-you for the report.

What about people who are using Konsole in an Ubuntu/Gnome environment (like me)?
Comment 6 Robert Knight 2008-09-22 04:50:16 UTC
That shouldn't make any difference. The same Konsole package will be installed whether you are using Ubuntu with Gnome or KDE as your desktop.
