Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.4.6 [FreeBSD] 20060305 OS: FreeBSD Installed from: FreeBSD Ports It's just irritating and annoying that KDE4 tries to be smarter then me. Saving all the windows, applications i'm using is just pointless. Session handling is a nice feature, but automaticly saving _everything_ on a logout is a PITA. Why can't it be turned off? KDE3's method was much much better. KDE3 never started unneeded applications on startup, while KDE4 starts everything that ain't even needs to be started. I think it's just just a wishlist item, it's rather a bug...
You can disable session saving from system settings. systemsettings->advanced->session manager->on login: start with an empty session. Is that what you want? In addition, can you explain better what you mean by "KDE3 never started unneeded applications on startup" ? What applications do you mean? Any examples?
Sorry, I haven't noticed the advanced tab at the system settings, and I was told on freenode/#kde that session handling doesn't have the options it had in KDE3. Now, I've selected "restore manually saved session", but i'm unable to find the "save current session" function. it's not in the K menu, and there's neither a checkbox(or alike) for it on the shutdown dialog. Where is it?
