Version: 1.0.5 (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Unspecified Linux Compiler: gcc 4.3.1 Archlinux 2008.06 OS: Linux When writing DVD iso or DVD Video project with Pioneer DVR-215, the process completes successfully by 'Write error' is generated during 'Flushing cache'. Log shows the follwing error code: SK=5h/ASC=A8h/ACQ=04h. Tried 4X and 8X on certtified Ritek G05 media. Tried 3 times. Just realised I was trying to use a volume id with more then 32 characters is K3B. K3B did not give a warning, but when I try to use genisoimage directly, I get: genisoimage: Volume ID string too long This is all during creation of DVD-Video filesystems / discs. Could K3B's ignoring of this restriction have caused errors during the fixating process, hence triggering write error at 99.9%?
by the way, the volume id (disc label) I entered in K3B (which accepted it) was: 2008_OLYMPIC_OPENING_CEREMONY_1_OF_3 When you try this with genisoimage, it does not proceed and throws the error in above comment.
Hi, My question is not specifically related to the bug you describe. I recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-215 SATA burner for my system, but the unit does not work at all in my system. Driver tries to talk to it, there is an error (see below), then the dvd drive is not recognised after this.
