Description shishir verma 2008-08-12 23:03:47 UTC
Version:           0.7 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.0 (4.1 >= 20080722)) "release 26.3", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25.11-0.1-default

When I open a chm file with okular, I see a weird problem wherein I see some pages being inordinately long, and some very small at the same time.
Also, I am not able to use links embedded inside the chm files. like going to next or previous page. This is possible in kcmviewer.

> Meaning most chm files if one were to open them with kchmviewer, have next and prev links. These are getting embedded into the text and can't be clicked. This is a very minor gripe.

Attached screeshot of kchmviewer:

You can attach all the kchmviewer snapshots you want, but none of them will actually tell me what is the real problem.
Document, please, otherwise this report is unuseful.

"---Meaning most chm files if one were to open them with kchmviewer, have next and prev links. These are getting embedded into the text and can't be clicked. This is a very minor gripe."

I think I did post the above comment, saying I am not able to click the "Next" and "Prev", surrounded by blue in the snapshot. These, I am able to click in kchmviewer and move to next or previous pages, but not when opening the same chm in okular. As I said, this is a very minor gripe. If you want, I can send you a file so that you can see the problem I am trying to point to. I am able to navigate using the arrow buttons. As this is a minor gripe, I dont know if you might be interested in fixing it, but the pages being of different sizes can be seen with any chm file.

As an addendum, the hyperlinks in the table of contents, upon clicking don't take to the page pointed to by them.
Comment 7 Pino Toscano 2008-08-18 02:18:37 UTC
As I said, I would like a *document* that shows the problem.

If you are referring to comment #4 as a request for a document, I am sorry, I did not understand that request, more a command, now that you make it clear. I asked in my comment if you wanted me to attach the chm that was giving me the problem. All you had to do was say, yeah, that will be nice, instead of sounding like I am talking non-sense. It seems bugzilla does not allow attaching files more than 1MB in size. What would you like me to do?

Strange, I did remember it should allow them.

> What would you like me to do?

Just send it to me, please.

Ok, got the document, thanks.

The problem with the hyperlinks has been fixed,
- for trunk (4.2): http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=850145
- for 4.1: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=850146

About the first part of the report (different sizes of pages), this is already covered by an already reported bug report; thus I'm marking this one as duplicate of that one.
