Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I clicked on the KDE start menu, opened the Internet menu, and then right clicked on the Firefox icon. I then selected "put into run dialog" and the following error report was displayed. I thought I should also mention that Amarok was running in the background (minimized to icon on panel). This bug can reproduced everytime simply by right clicking on the Firefox icon and selecting 'put into run dialog'. After some additional testing it turns out that it is completely unrelated to the Amarok application. The following description is displayed in the crash description. "The application KDE Panel (kicker) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)"
Created attachment 26764 [details] crash report the crash report that is displayed after the bug occurs
Created attachment 26767 [details] these are some screenshots taken before and after the crash For some reason this crash seems to affect the Firestarter firewall. I have Firestarter set to automatically load on startup and I keep it minimized to an icon on the panel. Anytime this crash occurs the Firestarter icon disappears from the panel and then reappears in the top left corner of the screen. I've attached a before and after screenshot of this effect.
I can reproduce the crash in KDE-3.5.9 (backtrace below if someone wants to fix it). But a more general question: What are we going to do with KDE-3.5.x bugs? Leave them Unconfirmed? Close Wontfix? (for the moment I'll leave this one Unconfirmed) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
