Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux The printer dialogs in KDE 4 applications show me the available CUPS printer (HP Photosmart) but offer no printing options (missing desperately Printout Mode / Resolution for steering the quality of the printout). The whole Extended tab in the printer dialog is completely empty. However KDE 3 apps running in KDE 4.x showing the old kprinter dialog which offers me these options. I tested KDE 4.0 and nowadays KDE 4.1 on openSuSE 11.0 and this is really the last bigger bug (or removed feature) which I found - but for me it essential to control the printout options.
Actually, this is not a bug, it's simply not implemented yet, so I mark this as a wishlist item.
Ok... - Are all printers affected or only some, like HP Multifunction Devices? If all printers affected, I would be more than suprised! Or does nobody want to change the output quality between different programms? I would suspect that an email from KMail is printed in Draft or Normal while a foto from Gwenview should be printed in Foto-Quality or at least High-Quality. Is there a shedule when KDE 4 supports the same printer dialog functionality as KDE 3 did?
It seems that is fixed - at least since KDE 4.1.1 the CUPS options of the HP Multifunction device are offeered
As it is reported to work now i close the report. Thanks.
Closing old Resolved status bug.
