Description Juha Tuomala 2008-08-01 20:46:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Even OSD is configured and should be on, it doesn't show anything.

When you come back from other virtual desktop, you'll find that there has been multiple messages unnoticed.

Please fix this, it's not just cosmetic but disturbs working. Yes, konversation is a tool for serious work! :)
Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2008-08-01 20:49:26 UTC
doesn't (seem to) work in kde-4.1.0 here either.
Comment 2 Eike Hein 2008-08-01 20:49:46 UTC
The reason is that the DCOP-based screensaver check doesn't work outside KDE 3.

If you use 1.0.1, close Konversation and add OSDCheckDesktopLock=false to the [OSD] group in ~/.kde/share/config/konversation and then restart it.

If you upgrade to 1.1rc1 or SVN[1], that will be unnecessary.

(Note for Rex: 1.1 final will be released next week, with some bugfixes over 1.1rc1).
Comment 4 Eike Hein 2008-08-01 20:50:59 UTC
Sorry, should've been '~/.kde/share/config/konversationrc'.
Comment 5 Rex Dieter 2008-08-01 20:51:36 UTC
rock, thanks Eike!
Comment 6 Juha Tuomala 2008-08-05 01:42:31 UTC
confirmed that

OSDCheckDesktopLock=false

fixes this.
