Version: (using KDE 4.0.5) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux In Kde3 it used to be possible to put icons on the task bar. Now this is no longer possible, trying to drag them onto it simply makes them disappear under it.
this is precisely how i get launchers on my panel.
Sorry, doesn't work for me, neither in 4.0.x, nor in 4.1.0 However, in 4.1.0, I can at least drag them from the menu to the desktop (which was not possible in 4.0.x), so there is some partial improvement. But putting them on the panel still does not work, when I try, the cursor changes into a "no parking" sign, and I can't drop it there.
try harder (no, i'm not kidding =P) there's another bug open for "better drag notification on panel". please do not re-open a bug just because you feel it should be. leave a comment, we still get it CC'd to our email boxes and we can figure it out from there.
Thanks, but neither google nor bugs.kde.org's search engine find anything about "better drag notification on panel". So, how should it be done? I suppose a very precise spot needs to be hit to drag onto the panel? If so, where exactly would that be? Or what's the ruse? No matter how hard I try, the icons slide _under_ the panel instead of on it, and I have to temporarily move the panel in order to get the icons back to a sane place
I am new to Kubuntu, and when I tried to drag the items to the panel the system crashed. Now I have no icons and I cannot put a panel at the bottom of the screen. How can I fix this. If anyone can help I will be very grateful.
