Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux I cannot resize or move the "folder view" widget at all. The handle bar the is suppose to appear with a mouse-over does not. There for I can't access the buttons, the resize button for example, within the handle bar. My "folder view" is frozen on the desktop. Dell latitude D610 laptop OS: linux Distro: openSUSE 10.3 KDE: 4.1.X
Is only the "folderview" plasmoid blocked ?(can't view its handlebar) / Handlebar appears in another type of plasmoid/widget? Can you add another folderview plasmoid to test?
Yes, it appears that all plasmoids are blocked. I added both the analog clock and battery widget, and wasn't able to move/resize either after they were initially added to the desktop. The battery widget, which I added last, was placed directly over the analog clock widget in the top left corner. I also tried dragging the widgets on to the desktop and although I can place them where I want, once placed they are fixed.
Actually, I can move the analog clock, but not the battery widget.
are the widgets locked? (you can check either from the panel or the desktop's plasma button (The thing that looks like a "cashew" ;) or from the desktop's right click menu) if not, can you post your plasma-appletsrc file?
The widgets are not locked. That was the first thing I checked. Hm, most plasmoids have immutability=1 Guess that causes the problem...
Immutability=1 means "mutable", so that shouldn't be the problem. and indeed, i just started plasma with Timothy's plasma-appletsrc and everything works just fine. here. Timothy: can you attach (not paste! =) to this report your plasmarc now? thanks.
Aaron, I don't think I have one. I did the following: find ~timothy/ -name plasmarc No results! Where exactly should it be?
It should be in $KDEHOMEDIR/share/config/plasma-appletsrc (ex. /home/user/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc)
if you don't have one, then that's ok. i can't reproduce your problem here with plasma built from source using your configuration files. perhaps a packaging issue? *shrug*
Perhaps. Oh well... might have to reinstall from scratch...
