Description Vincent 2008-07-30 13:43:57 UTC
Version: 2.1 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

When konsole in full screen mode, the panel sometimes hides konsole. I think it should stay hidden behind the konsole window. Meta-Tab does not solve the pb. (But Meta-Tag + switching desktop and back to konsole's desktop yes).

Thanks!

Konsole Version 2.1 Using KDE 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0) (KDEmod) in ArchLinux i686:

I can't reproduce this bug. I'm using two panels, one on top and one on bottom of the screen. The panels doesn't appear when Konsole is in fullscreen mode.

Do you do something special before the panel appear? (Moving the mouse, typing something special... ? )
Comment 2 Vincent 2008-07-31 01:33:36 UTC
Strange ... It suceeds almost 1/2 times, especially when I click on the panel just before switching desktop.

Same if I'm changing desktop with keys or mouse ...

I tried with two panels, with "focus follow mouse"/"click for focus", with and without 3D effects, etc. It is always the same ...
I also tried with and without menu/tab bar/scroll bar ...

More information: it seems that is succeeds only if konsole is the only window on the desktop.

It happens not only with konsole, but with every fullscreen app.

It happens often and in different situations but I've found one sure way to reproduce the bug: in one desktop open konsole in fullscreen, switch with keyboard shortcut to another desktop, open kopete contacts list from tray by mouse click, switch to previous desktop by keys. And you'll see it.

So I suppose this is not konsole bug or there is just the same bug in emacs and firefox and just look at this list:

I can still confirm this bug on KDE 4.2.4 with other apps (Okular, SMPlayer, por example).

I failed to reproduce this in KDE-4.7.0, as instructed in comment #4

Feel free to reopen if this still happens in recent version.
Comment 10 Alexander 2013-04-13 11:27:01 UTC
Hello
I encountered this bug in KDE 4.10.2 in ArchLinux, so please reopen it.

To reproduce:
1. Open free desktop
2. Launch konsole and switch it into the fullscreen mode.
3. Switch to another desktop, do some stuff
4. Switch back to the desktop with konsole on it. The panel will or overlap konsole, or will just be in the bottom.
Comment 11 Alexander 2013-04-13 11:47:00 UTC
In previous comment i said, that panel sometimes does not overlap with konsole. It's not true, actually it overlaps konsole _always_.

Sorry for misconception

Alexander, do you see this bug only with Konsole, or also with other KDE applications in fullscreen mode?

It turns out this bug happens with all application (at least with that i have on my desktop) that can switch to fullscreen.

So i'm supposed to create new bug report in another product?
If yes, would you be so kind to tell me the product i should commit the bug to?

Alexander, panel bugs are to be failed against "plasma/panel".
