glad to hear about that! since i'm an average user, i have no idea how to deal with svn. nor do i know how to compile packages for my favorite distro (openSUSE). so all i can do is look out for the latest packages available at openSUSE repositories (extra-app, kde4 unstable etc.). Cheers, Michael

You can try to press CTRL+T or the appropriate menu entry "Show Thumbnails" to get the splitter back. You might not see any effect, but you might be able to drag the line splitter around now.
Just to be sure: Can you see no images at all or just not in tagfolder view (the one where you click on a tag name and should see all images associated with this tag). For me the tagfolder view is broken right now, but I really don't know why because I still can search for tags and also the quickfilters work. Only the tagfolder view doesn't do anything at all. Andi

Images (preview not editing) are displayed now for me. I once need to to drag the splitter at the bottom - which wasn't visible but the mouse change when you go over it. Until then CTRL-T has no effect. From now on all works fine, even when I restart digikam.CTRL-T works too. Maybe an uninitialized config value which needs to be set once?
Rene, in current implementation from svn, Marcel has patched code to fix unitialized splitter size problem... Here all work fine now. But you are right : there is a config flush problem, certainly relevant of KDELibs (config files management is delegate to KDE api) So i recommend to use at least digikam 0.10.0 beta2, Qt 4.4.1, and KDE 4.1 (or better current svn implementation if you can) Gilles Caulier

Hello, I have just compiled the latest digikam 0.10 from source and appear to be having the same problem. I was previously running digikam 0.9.4. I then upgraded Kubuntu 8.10 with kde4. digikam 0.9.4 wasn't working very well so I decided to go ahead and move to digikam 0.10. But the embedded preview does not work. I can see the thumbnails in the album view. When I click on the thumbnail the preview window is empty (the zoom slider also goes to zero). Clicking on the preview window does not restore the album view. However, if I pick another album the thumbnails return. Digikam does not crash at the end. below is the output from the console when running digikam. I was able to get around this by deleting my digikamrc file and starting again. I'll have to restore my original digikamrc file to see if I can find the horizontal splitter on the screen some where. I am confused. Was I seeing expected behavior?
At quick glance I classified this as crash, but the discussion here is about the preview-slider bug for which the discussion has moved mostly to bug #173746. Michael or anyone else, with recent packages (beta6), can you still reproduce the crash? If not, I will mark that as duplicate of #173746 (for simplicity, although this is the older bug)
