Description Tim Slatcher 2008-07-27 18:11:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When I load a new KDE4 session, it crashes right after the splash screen every time.
Its KDE4.1 Beta 2, running of packages from deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu hardy main

KDE3 and Gnome load fine, its just KDE4, which makes me think its kde4.1 bug.

It worked fine for a while, I think until I installed the Beta 2 packages. I can still run kde4 programs in KDE3 however.

I'll attach the .xsession-errors file in a second.

I should point out, I tried this 2-3 times with the same result, as you can
see.

Try renaming (or deleting) $HOME/.kde4
Comment 3 Tim Slatcher 2008-07-28 19:44:23 UTC
After a restart, I opened KDE4 and it worked fine, the only difference being that KDE3 was not running at the same time on the same user, I think this could be the problem.
Anyway, the matter is resolved.
