That's it basically. I drag the Folder View plasmoid to the panel and Plasma crashes. 
Maybe folder view in the panel should show an icon and a popup on click with the contents of the selected folder. There's already a plasmoid that do something like this called QuickAccess (found in kde-look.org)

I'm using SVN from 4.1 branch from a couple of weeks ago.

Actually, in trunk, this is fixed.
It doesn't work very well as folderview isn't meant to stay in a panel, but nothing crashes.
