Version: (using KDE 4.0.98) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Plasma crashed some times on me when i changed some menu settings, and now i can reproduce the crash when i switch like a madman with my mouse through the kickoff (classic style) menus. -> plasma vanishes (but i get no crash-window, so technically i think its not a crash) -> i use krunner -> killall plasma; plasma and get it back, but all my widget settings are lost.
Hello, i dont have understand the step to reproduce the bug. Did you mean that it appear randomly after switching with the right button mouse menu from kickoff to the classic menu one ? or from classic menu to kickoff ? or both ? We have to know exactly when it happens... Thanks
It can happen when i switch from new style to classic, but usually it happens when i browse through the different menu entries with my mouse real fast, i.e. moving around in the menu real fast cause im searching something or misclicked.. i thought it might have something to do with old config files, so i did a fresh install today, and the problem is still there... oh and when i restart plasma then , all my widgets are still on the panel, but the icon of the menu is missing, there is just an empty space where its supposed to be, when i go to add widgets it says my menu is still there, so i have to remove it and add it again... i think all of this could narrow the problem down do the menu.. sry theres no crashcode or anything since it doesnt really crash, it just vanishes. thanks bye -------- Original-Nachricht -------- > Datum: 20 Jul 2008 11:11:20 -0000 > Von: Loic Marteau <loic.marteau@gmail.com> > An: tomfasching@gmx.at > Betreff: [Bug 167025] plasma crashes while using kickoff menu [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
does this problem persist?
I mark this report as WORKSFORME cause I fixed a bunch of such issues in ~4.1.2/4.1.3. So, it should be gone. If it's still reproducable for someone with a newer (4.1.3 or 4.2 beta1) version, please reopen the report. Thanks for the feedback!
