You click, you move, you click again to release. For size widgets there is no reason (there is conflict) not to provide sticky UI -- it is much better for a11y reasons than extensive movement with LMB pressed all the time.
PS. I am good -- this would work nicely with splitter too. However this could be solved at kdelibs level, because for splitter there is not conflict in any situation.
