Version: (using KDE 4.0.98) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Whenever I start my system, when KDE loads, the widgets are unlocked. This occurs whether the widgets are left locked or unlocked at shutdown. This can be reproduced at any startup. Expected behavior is for widgets to be locked when left locked at shutdown. System: KUbuntu Hardy 8.04 KDE4.1 RC1 from the ubuntu repositories Basic widgets running, plus: - battery monitor - shutdown/lock screen widget - analog clock
+1, I have that bug too
NForce: also KUbuntu Hardy? Both: please try with kquitapp plasma && plasma (in konsole) and see if they are restored properly. Also: lock the widgets, logout KDE, restart KDE and attach your plasma-appletsrc file here please Thanks!
Okay, so kquitapp plasma && plasma restores with locked widgets. Not had chance to get the plasma-appletsrc file. Im in the middle of working with quite a lot of windows!! Ill do it as soon as restoring them all will take less than 10 minutes!!!!!
I think this is a crash-at-exit problem. In fact, it sounds very much like Bug 165051. It would be good if you could try to reproduce the problem in 4.1.1 when that is released (early September).
can you confirm the bug in 4.1.1?
Marked as WORKSFORME cause it does (heh) and cause I would *really* wonder if that prob is still in there in e.g. 4.1.3 (or 4.2 beta1 or newer). So, please reopen if that bug is still reproducable for you with a newer KDE-release cause that allows us to know that the prob is still there. Thanks in advance and you for your feedback!
KDE 4.1.81 the problem is not the same, but similar. My screen is 1280x800, but when I add a widget on the right side of it, after plasma restart (or PC restart) - it appears where the edge of 1024x768 screen should be. That happens only with superkaramba widgets, native plasmoids are working fine. Seems that superkaramba thinks that my screen is 1024x768. P.S. on KDE 4.1.3 there wasn't any problems like this P.P.S plasma widgets unlock on startup bug isnt here. And there wasn't any on 4.1.3
