Description Stefan Majewsky 2008-07-16 12:17:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.98)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

A big part of my Dashboard is not transparent as it should but is white and opaque. See the screenshot attached in the first comment where you can also see that the transparency works as expected in the small area which is not white.

i've seen this from time to time, but it doesn't seem to be a plasma problem but a compositing issue. can you start another compositing wm and see if the problem persists there?
Comment 3 Stefan Majewsky 2008-07-17 11:30:48 UTC
The problem persists in Compiz 0.7.4.

This morning, I accidentally removed my plasma-appletsrc, so a new one was set up. The problem is now gone; the dashboard does now render correctly. Unfortunately, I do not have a backup of the old plasma-appletsrc to reproduce the problem.
Comment 5 Alex Merry 2008-08-26 19:17:05 UTC
It's fixed with a new plasma-appletsrc, and I doubt we're going to figure out what the problem was without it.

Someone can re-open it if it occurs again, and post their plasma-appletsrc and plasmarc.
