Description Nach 2008-07-16 04:36:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

It'd be nice that if it was possible to drop something onto an application, than it could be dropped directly onto that applications entry on the taskbar, as opposed to hovering over the taskbar entry, waiting for the window to appear, and then drop it in the window.

To my knowledge, no other desktop environment has such a feature.

This is unfortunately not possible atm. since programs generally don't export which drops they support and don't have a default action for drops which would need to be dropped on a certain field in the app.

Maybe what to do can be learnt by the taskbar or configured in some place.
For example one rule can be "when I drop a file on a kate taskbar button, open this file with kate" (that is launching a command or executing a dbus command to the corresponding instance).
