Description Bartemius Crouch 2008-07-14 15:29:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

One should be able make Plasmoids stay on to of each other like windows. so one can for example put a kmenu on the edges of a taskbar wich both are on the desktop. currently the taskbar will tend to pop over the menubutton making it inaccessible (and the look ugly).

I would like to extend this wish a bit :)
I would really love to have the possibility to make plasmoids stay on top of windows, kind of like an osd. The plasmoids would be on top of everything, even above the mouse-cursor, and therefore not react to input at all, making it possible to display information like cpu-load, network-load or other things without blocking input for the applications below.
Maybe a Short-Cut like Shift+Alt, which is already used a lot in plasma-context can be used to raise the cursor above those plasmoids again to be able to disable their "on-top" status.

i think dashboard is what you need, not exactly what you wished for, but close enough
