Description jarlgjessing 2008-07-14 11:06:38 UTC
Version:           1.9.52 (using 4.00.85 (KDE 4.0.85 (KDE 4.1 >= 20080703) "release 4.2", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.9-0.2-pae

When I relaunch kmail after quitting it, it sometimes asks for password. I have checked the store password and kwalletmanager is open.
Sometimes after starting linux it starts KDE and it asks for password. I enterit and checks the Save password, and then kwallet... asks for the wallet password. As if kmail does not wait for the wallet!?

Your analysis is quite right. Up to now any application trying to open the wallet waited at most 25 seconds for you to enter the password. This was due to the underlying D-Bus communication mechanism between eg. kmail and kwalletd which timed out. While this problem is not entirely fixed, KDE 4.1 RC1 now has a timeout which is increased to around 5 hours so this problem shouldn't occur any longer (at least not very often). Please try the upcoming RC1 release and send me a note if this bug is fixed for you.
