Version: (using KDE 4.0.83) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Notifier plasmoid lists not only "recently plugged in" devices, but also the partitions of my internal hard-disk mounted in "/media/", for example my windows partition.
The solution here is not to change the functionality of the plasmoid but to change "recently plugged in" devices to "Devices".
Usually you don't mount windows partition in /media no? In all cases i can't do the distinction...
Actually, I agree with you, Alexis. "/media" is not the right place to mount windows partitions. Then, I mark this bug as resolved.
I must reopen this bug for the following reason: 1. I moved the windows partition from "/media/ to the folder "/mnt" but it keeps being listed by the notifier. If mounting the windows partition in "/media" is unusual not is so mounting it in "/mnt". 2. The "removable media" section of the "Computer" tab in the kickoff menu shows, correctly, only really removable devices even if the windows partition is mounted in /media/
Ok i will take a look in kickoff
I confirm this bug. Device Notifier lists out partitions present on my local disk. Kickoff however, correctly displays as "Removable Media" only those that are plugged on the USB port or on my laptops media card slot. Device Notifier should also hence be able to identify this and should only display removable media in its menu.

(Fedora 9 KDE 4.1.1 RPMS) I liked the fact that hard drive partitions that were not automatically mounted could be mounted and unmounted with this widget which is always present. Now it seems I have to do this through Dolphin, is this correct. Would it not be possible to have more than 1 mode of action for those that wouuld like to see their other partitions. Thanks for looking......
You mean add an option to list internal partitions or not?
Hi Alexis, Yes a simple checkbox for "Everything" otherwise just the USB removable drives would be great (that would probably cover most people at present). Also I did notice that if gparted runs a device scan, unmounted partitions on my main drive started to show up in the "device notifier" even in fedora 9 with KDE 4.1.1. Thanks for considering this,
