Version: (using KDE 4.0.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Compiler: Frome ubuntu compiled packages repository OS: Linux Summary: When a tooltip is triggered from the task manager, stops responding to mouse/keyboard input. BackTrace - exception not triggered Expected - system responds to input Reproduce - Occurs regularly, not able to isolate cause. Long: This is not the 100% CPU usage bug. Hovering the cursor over the programs listed in the plasma/kicker-bar task manager produces a tooltip. Sometimes, although I have not been able to find a reproducible factor, when a tool tip is displayed, the computer stops responding to mouse and keyboard input. The cursor still moves, but there is no response to clicks, alt-tab, etc. alt-backspace works however. I reproduced with process monitor on screen, and did not see a change in CPU load. It is worth mentioning that programs continue to function, playing video, updating a progress bar etc. Further, if a program requests focus, it gets focus and the problem is gone.
that tooltip code has been removed in 4.1. it wasn't replaced in time for 4.1.0, unfortunately, but the rewrite of it for 4.2 makes this BR no longer relevant.
