Version: (using KDE 4.0.83) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Using KDE 4.0.85. It would be nice if folderview would honor some of the settings in Dolphin. There's one in particular I have in mind: I've set dolphin up to "Show Delete" in the context menu, and it doesn't show up when right-clicking on a file when using the folderview plasmoid.
Hi Jonas, as far as I know, the folderview plasmoid uses konqueror's context menu and not dolphin's. I'm not sure if this helps, but you can always come back and ask more questions (and hope for more competent answers :-) michael
Well, I don't know if it uses Konqueror's or Dolphin's context menus but if it's using either of them it should work...since I have that setting turned on in both. I'm therefore guessing it isn't using either.
The "actions" submenu differs from both Konquerors and Dolphons ones. There is also no Delete option in folderview but it is in Konqueror and Dolphin. There are copy to and move to submenus in folderview but not Dolphin (there is in Konqueror). Strange. In my opinion there should be one common context menu for every file view in KDE (dolphins one?) with optional additions specific for single application
@Witold, There are copy to and move to submenus in Dolphin, although not turned on by default. Check Settings->General->Context menu (I don't remember when it was introduced, but at least in 4.1RC 1, maybe earlier). It's certainly present in 4.1 Final and later.
and folderview is using the One True File Manager Context Menu(tm) already as well =) (it's in libkonq)
Found a thread in the forum about more differences between dolphin/konqueror and folderview: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=61890
Folderview shows the same rightclick menu as dolphin does (including delete, copy to and move to) in KDE SC 4.4!
