I have the same issue, yesterday I updated my opensuse 11.0 and plasma doesn't work (krunner, with alt-f2, works). Thanks Aaron, I uninstall kdeplasmoid (version 4.0.83) and plasma works again! Now I wait until the 4.0.84 release of kdeplasmoid.
I upgraded to version 4.0.85 KDE and apparently the problem has been corrected.
