Version: (using KDE 4.0.83) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux If I use the composite workspace switcher (where all workspaces are side-a- side in fullscreen view), I only see the windows of the current workspace, the windows on other workspaces are invisible. If I move a window from the current workspace to another workspace, it disappears in the workspace switcher view as soon as i let go the mousebutton. But when I switch to the new workspace, the window is there. Seems to me like a bug rather than a feature, right?
Installed from openSUSE Factory packages
Are you talking about the Desktop Grid? (Right-click on the window decoration and choose "Configure window-behavior" -> "Desktop Effects") If so, this is a KWin bug and should be assigned accordingly. Thanks for your report.
Ok, I mean the desktop grid. Sorry, I am using the german translation and retranslated it wrong ;) But now I found another bugreport, which describes this behaviour. I have not found it before even with several searches. Sorry. Please mark this bug as a duplicate of bug 161436, the temporary workaround described there works pretty well.

in my experience , this bug only happens if you check the kwin composite option : "keep hidden windows updated" ( on advanced , on kwin desktop effects ). if you uncheck that option, you should see all desktop viewports windows. but then again, those from the other viewports wont be updated.
