Version: 4.0.84 (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources In my application menu I have Education - Sciences - Marble Desktop Globe. Marble is the only application in the Sciences category. It does not make much sense having to click through the Sciences category if Marble is the only item. Instead, Kickoff should show Marble Desktop Globe immediately in the Education section, which would save one click, and make the application easier to find. Such collapsing should only be done for one level, in order not to bring application to too generic categories. For example, if Sciences is the only item in Education, Marble should not be shown at the top level (instead of Education), but we should have Education with Marble as the only item.
I have only one program that's of the Instant Messager category (Pidgin). It appears with the title "Instant Messenger" program name "Chat (Pidgin)", no subcategory under "Internet".

Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.
