Description hugomahr 2008-07-02 12:02:13 UTC
Version: 1.9.51 (using KDE 4.0.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hello,
I think the I/F with kwallet (in this version, previously - up to SUSE 10.3 it was OK) has a problem.

1.) I use to identities for sending.
One is OK.
The other ones it seems that the password is not read fronm the wallet.

2.) When sending the mails are not send but are stored in the send folder.
Starting setting
kmail einrichten
Zugaenge / senden
(or a similar name)
closing this and selst 'sending outgoing queued mails'
works. But this is a workaround.
Regards

I don't know if this is the same bug, but here goes an IRC log for a similar problem:

[19:53] <winterz> tmcguire: how to reproduce
[19:53] <winterz> tmcguire: step 1: close kontact/kmail
[19:53] <winterz> tmcguire: step 2: close all wallets (RMB on kwallet in systray)
[19:53] <winterz> tmcguire: step 3: start kontact/kmail
[19:54] <winterz> tmcguire: step 4: compose and send new message
[19:54] <winterz> tmcguire: you will be prompted for wallet password. at this point the message should send; but instead you are prmopted for smtp password
[19:56] <winterz> then, if you type the password incorrectly the message will stay in the outbox. so you need to go back into your config settings and enter the correct password

@Hugo: Sorry, I don't understand what you're doing in the settings dialog. Does it only work if you enter it, leave it and then press then send button manually?

I'm not sure c#1 is related but I'll check both cases for kwallet bugs as soon as I get to it.

at Michael: It works now for me as expected.
This bug can be closed.

Today there was a kernel update and I update the kdepim too.
The rpm packages are now:
libkdepim4-4.0.80-15.1
kdepim4-wizards-4.0.80-15.1
kdepim4-4.0.80-15.1
kernel-default-2.6.25.9-0.2

To your c#2: Your description is what I meant.

Regards Hugo

don't close.
the bug I describe in comment #1 is still there.

From kde 4.2.66 on, kwallet is allways requested to start by kmail/kontact. So it will store the passwords in kwallet unless you do not want to use it (denying its access to kwallet).
Comment 6 Robert 2009-04-04 13:19:08 UTC
I`ve got too no problem. Kwallet asks again and again after the correct passwort if I`ve typed a wrong password. So there is no workaround necessary
Comment 7 Dominik Tritscher 2009-04-11 00:14:28 UTC
Works fine here too (kde 4.2.2). I'm closing this bug.
