Version: 0.50.1 (using 4.0.5 (KDE 4.0.5), Gentoo) Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25-gentoo-r2 When you receive a message starting with a '<', the message is not displayed. For example, I'm chatting with a friend and he see in his client this: <Buddy> : blablabla <me> : blabla <Buddy> : <-- bla And I receive that: <Buddy> : blablabla <me> : blabla <Buddy> : As you can see, the last message is not displayed. It happens to me with my ICQ Contacts, unfortunately I can not check if this happens with other protocols since I do not know anybody who uses something different than ICQ.
does it happen even if you switch the style of the chat window?
Hello, I've changed the style from Oxygen to Klearlooks and nothing changed, but I've discovered something interesting: - If Kopete receives a '<' from a Trillian user, the message is displayed. - If the remote user uses QIP/Miranda/ICQ6, it is not displayed.
I don't mean the style of widgets, but the style of the chat window: kopete -> settings -> configure -> chat window -> style
OK I've changed the style of the chat window but it still does not work.
I can't reproduce this with Kopete 0.50.80
seems to be fixed in 0.50.80 (kde 4.0.99, Suse 11)
Can't reproduce that with 0.50.80 either.
I've installed KDE 4.1 and Kopete today and the bug is still not fixed for me. (I'm using Ubuntu now)
I can reproduce with "<a b>" but we can't do anything about it because the ICQ server filters it. You can report it to them.
