Description Ambroz Bizjak 2008-06-27 20:36:32 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

All new desktop widgets are currently positioned in the upper-left corner of the screen. It is very annoying, as they overlap with the Desktop widget which is there by default. Furthermore, adding two widgets in a row creates a mess there.
A widget should be positioned so that it does not overlap with other widgets. Furthermore, it should be, if possible, positioned somewhere in the visible part of the desktop (not under windows), so that the user could immediately notice the widget that was added.

I totally agree. There should be some smart placement like kwin can do with windows.
Comment 2 Fred Wells 2008-07-22 04:53:28 UTC
I also agree completely.

Anyone working on that?
Comment 4 Ambroz Bizjak 2008-10-20 17:25:23 UTC
I've implemented it and it's been in trunk (4.2) for quite some time. Closing.
