Exactly which revision did you compile? Moreover "no debugging symbols found" means that the backtrace is not useful. You should compile (or install) the debug enabled packages. I can't reproduce this with a fresh kdepim revision (824422) I tried with an existing config and with a blank one (to test in the same conditions). Creating the account then opening the settings window worked perfectly.
