Kickoff can be resized both horizontally and vertically. But items will only take advantage of more vertical space.
Maybe it would be nice to have more columns when horizontal size reaches certain point.

And the scrolling would be horizontal in that case?

Or the blender-style - each column scrolls - for example if the user scrolls down, the first item in the first column would be removed, the first item of the second column moved to the end of the first etc.?

any news on that one? There's been a patch long time ago but somehow I can't find it anymore :-( 

Would have like to give it a try and modify the patch to cleanly apply to trunk (don't have the time to start from scratch)... really hope this will go into trunk soon so all can enjoy it in 4.3
