Created attachment 25540 [details] backtrace 2 this time i noted that it was the Network Graph that was last added. It was not resized and worked smoothly for 1 hour before I tried to logout.

this code no longer even exists in trunk/ (e.g. Plasma::Widget); not sure what has gone on with your install, but the recommendation is to upgrade to 4.1 once that's been made available (assuming opensuse updates don't introduce fixes for it in the 4.0.x line) in any case, it works in trunk just fine.
