Description Vince C. 2008-06-21 10:21:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: 4.1.2
OS: Linux

I'm accessing my Domino mailbox from KMail. The folders I created in Domino appear in KMail, which is Ok.

I had created a folder called "Backup" in my Domino mailbox to store backup notifications from my backup server. When I ran KMail the first time I didn't realize it used the "Backup" folder to store a backup of my Inbox. Moreover the mails in folder "Backup" are not listed in KMail.

So I renamed my folder "Backup" in Lotus Domino and deleted the "Backup" folder from KMail. When I restarted KMail I noticed 4 strange things:

1. Folder "Backup" is back again
2. It still contains a backup of my Inbox
3. The renamed folder appears too but also as another copy of my Inbox!
4. If I delete the mails from the renamed folder, all mails from my Inbox go away!

I still cannot get the backup notification emails as they don't appear in their folder -- the one I renamed as mentioned earlier.

So I ended up with 3 copies of my Inbox folder: the original Inbox, one in KMail's Backup folder and the last one in the folder I renamed earlier. All three are not in sync.

I'm having a similar problem. Recently, I switched from thunderbird to kmail to manage my lotus notes imap account. Somehow, kmail synchronises my inbox and the Drafts folder from lotus, and I have no idea how to solve this.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.

Oh my! It's been years since I stopped using KDE! This said it's not excluded that I give it a go some day again. Thanks for the reminder though.
