Version: (using KDE 4.0.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I don't know if this is possible or not .. but can there be in existence such a thing as a VNC plasmoid. Imagine: Having a widget on your desktop No.2 to control your other pc in that other room .. (be it linux or a mac or a windows) I can't imagine porting the code from Krdc to a plasmoid will be that difficult .. correct? What made this idea pop into my head is that I happen now to be with an extra unfortunately-monitorless CPU :) Extra idea: is that if the other computer is not online .. then the widget can display a blank black "off" screen .. like a TV turned off for example.. or glassify it with a notice: Desktop "blah blah blah" is now offline. An option will also be provided like: auto-connect on startup .. auto-connect only on showing respective desktop etc etc. What do you think?
Sounds like a nice idea. I will have a look at this after 4.1 release. (and yeah, sharing code with KRDC is possible withouth problems. If you have any further ideas, just comment here :)
Going through old plasma bugs... Any update on an implementation of this idea?
Unfortunately no news here. Assigning feature request to KRDC.
