Description Frederik Himpe 2008-06-14 16:42:57 UTC
Version:           4.0.82 (using Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources

It's impossible to change the order of the applications in the Favourites tab in Kickoff by using drag and drop. This seems like a highly wanted feature, because now all my applications appear in a random order (well, the order I added them, which is fairly random considering the type of applications).

how would this interact with recency/frequency ranking? without reserving an area at the top for these items, it wouldn't work. possible solutions:

* don't implement this wish
* turn off recency/frequency for ordering when order is changed by user
* don't use recency/frequenecy at all

I did not even know the order was based on recency/frequency. Personally I would prefer to define the order myself much above automatic ordering, because after some time you are used to the locations and move to the right application intuitively without really having to read the entries. If the order keeps on changing automatically, that becomes impossible.

I fixed this bug; the code is now in trunk for KDE 4.2. Enjoy!
