What do you mean by "cannot be displayed"?
Are you able to run these applications? Do these windoes appears, or they are empty? Something else?
Comment 2 Crazyshen 2008-06-18 18:24:17 UTC
The application runs normally, except that the panel is not shown.
The gmplayer's control panel appeared in the taskbar, but however I clicked it, it was not shown.
The PackageKit's preference window flashed by and disappeared as if it was hidden by some program.

I cannot reproduce with MPlayer.

Are you running a 32- or 64-bit build?
Do you have desktop effects enabled? If so are you using OpenGL or XRender?
Comment 4 Crazyshen 2008-07-10 15:15:48 UTC
I'm sorry, the MPlayer is due to the skin problem, I changed the skin to default (although there's only one skin!) and it works OK.
I'm running Fedora9 x86_64 official build without desktop effects.

I am running 64 bit kubuntu 8.10 and can't launch gnome apps at all. They just dont appear. Eg. Firefox launches, says nothing and never shows up. Same with thunderbird, ghamachi and gtkvnc etc etc.

does this problem still exist?
Comment 7 Kenneth Aar 2009-12-16 14:37:47 UTC
No. This no longer affects me.

Seems to be fixed. If it's still an issue, please reopen.
